Bid Opening Info: Sealed bids clearly marked “Roof Replacement for Secondary Control Building at the WPC Treatment Plant” will be received until 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 29, 2019 in the City of Derby Finance Office, 1 Elizabeth Street, Derby, CT at which time they will be opened and read aloud.
Description:
All bidders shall hold a current “DAS Contractor Prequalification Certificate (not a predetermination letter) from the Department of Administrative Services (hereinafter DAS) of the State of Connecticut in accordance with Connecticut General Statute Sections 4a-100, and 4b-91(a). The required DAS prequalification classification for this project is ROOFING. Bidders shall submit with their bids, unless noted otherwise, a “DAS Contractor Prequalification Certificate” along with a current “Update (bid) Statement.” Any bid submitted without a copy of the DAS Prequalification Certificate and an Update (Bid) Statement shall be invalid. A bid bond in the amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid shall accompany each bid package. A performance and a labor and material bond in the amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the accepted bid will be required. The cost of the bonds must be included in the bid price. Contractor must also include an $11,000 contingency in the bid.
The bid submitted must be accompanied by the original bid and two (2) copies.

The City of Derby reserves the right under applicable law to waive or reject any procedural irregularities or all bids in the interest of the City of Derby.

Pre Bid Meeting: A MANDATORY pre-bid meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 9:00 a.m. at the WPC site, 1 Caroline Street, Derby, CT. Interested bidders must attend the mandatory pre-bid to be eligible to submit a bid.
